Welcome to the Whangarei Mid Winter Arts Festival 2010 Website

The festival is about CELEBRATION. Celebrating who we are as a community, and what we do.

The festival aims to involve and showcase as many art forms, gifted people and cultures as possible from throughout Northland, and at the same time develop as an event that is able to cover its costs and be sustainable.

The festival is organised by volunteers under the charitable company ENACT Ltd - 'Events Northland Arts Community Together.' Our aim is to organise arts events for the benefit of our community. The funding we have received from the Whangarei District Council and Creative communities covers about 1/8 of the total costs of the festival - so we are relying on the support of the community for the event to be financially successful. Should any profits be achieved, these will go into the Mid Winter Arts Festival 2011...

The Mid Winter Arts Festival 2010 is being hosted and supported by our four wonderful partner venues: Forum North, the Old Library, Whangarei Central Library and The Quarry Art Centre. Each of these venues will host a variety of arts events leading up to and throughout the weekend of the 30 July to 1 August.

There is a LOT going on at this festival, and certainly something for everyone!

Please encourage all your friends and family to come along to the fantastic concerts; unique, one-off festival shows - and throughout the weekend taking in what your community has to offer.

There are a number of wonderful community events this year -
so do take a look and come along.

See you there!

Kind Regards,
Kaari Schlebach
